Translation

I translate software, help, documentation, and Websites from English and Portuguese (European and Brazilian) into Spanish, in the IT, hardware and automotive fields.

I'm a registered user of SDL Trados 2007, SDLX, Déjà Vu X, memoQ 4.0 and dtSearch. I also use open source tools, like OmegaT and Poedit.

Professional Experience

March 1999 to date
Freelance software localizer and technical translator, working mostly on websites and software localization (for companies like Microsoft, Macromedia, Adobe, Sonic, Pinnacle), translation of automotive repair manuals (for companies like Ford, Toyota, Jaguar, Yamaha, Mitsubishi and Suzuki), and translation of hardware guides (for companies like Hewlett-Packard) through many worldwide agencies and organizations, including Academy Translation Services, Accent Språkservice, Action Aid, Adapt, Adaptext, Aplomb, Auto.NET, BCN Localize,

1995-1999
Software localizer, engineer and project manager at Lexitrans S.A. (later Lernout & Hauspie Spain). During this period, I worked mostly on Microsoft projects, including Excel 95, Schedule+ 95, Word 95, Internet Explorer 2.0 & 2.1 for Windows 3.1, NetShow 1.0, Exchange 4.0, Windows OSR2, Visual FoxPro 5.0, FrontPage 98, Office 97 VBA for Mac, Windows CE, NetShow 3.0, Visual Studio 6.0 (Visual Basic, Visual SourceSafe, Visual FoxPro), and FrontPage 2000.
